  • For every $12 donation made at participating Dunkin’ restaurants, guests will receive a Dunkin’ Iconic Iced Coffee dog toy.

While diving into our dog data, we uncovered hilarious dog parent trends based on their dog’s breeds. While each dog is unique, there is a LOT that the breed of a dog says about their humans. 

We identified the most spoiled breeds, top names for breeds, and top breeds and names in each state. A few of the interesting findings include:

 

    • American Staffordshire Terriers (aka Staffys) are the most spoiled breed

      German Shorthaired Pointers and Bernese Mountain Dogs follow the pack in second and third place, respectively.

    • One Nation Under LUNA

      When we analyze the names of dogs by state, the data is surprisingly homogenous. Regardless of region or political leaning, we have commonality in what we name our pups as Americans, and the most popular name is Luna.

    • Utah is the ONLY state that doesn’t have Pit Bulls or Labradors as their top breed

      Their top pup? The Doodle!

    • Boxer parents like… boxing

      Boxers are the only breed with Tyson in the top 20 names (the Mike is silent).

    • Alaska’s top breed is in fact NOT an Alaskan dog

      It’s the Labrador! But don’t worry, Husky is #2 and Alaskan Malamute isn’t far behind at #9.

Our journey into licensing started in 2018, as Universal Pictures was launching their animated film, The Grinch. We thought the beloved Dr. Seuss tale with its iconically grumpy anti-hero, loyal pet dog Max, and cast of quirky characters could be as much of a hit with pups as their people. Partnership structures and strategies indeed run the gamut. Peanuts and Snoopy, for example, fall into that Venn diagram of dog-oriented, beloved characters that fit really well, with broad awareness, and are talked about every holiday season,” says May. Contrast that with the more tactical approaches they’ve taken with WWE’s storied characters, or the massive fan bases of collegiate teams like Ohio State and the University of Texas, which were primarily forged to attract new audiences. “With both strategies, we’ve had great experiences, great product and NPS scores.”   

Infusing our strong brand voice, we have a lot of fun with clever conceptual riffing through the entire marketing process all the way up to Instagram captions. With the Peanuts package, we served Charlie Brown’s catchphrase as “Good Beef” treats. Instead of straightforward Sesame Street character toys, we delivered Sesame Street Food with Bert Dogs and Ernie Burgers. 

Dogs, like Dolly Parton, are one thing everyone can agree on during these difficult and divise times (cat and hamster people can have YouTube). The stunning stats: Recent dog ownership surveys estimate that 63.4 million households—that’s 53% of all households—have a dog. And you’ve surely read plenty about skyrocketing pandemic pet adoption rates. That potential market size equals tantalizing opportunities, and the product release calendar is hopping all the way through 2024. “We’re currently in the fortunate position of having more licensing opportunities than we have time to activate, but we’re always thinking ahead,” says May. “There are a lot of food and beverage brands that we’d love to work with like Taco Bell and Domino’s, for example, that we think would be a great match. The music world is another space we’d like to explore.”

All proceeds benefited Proyecto Mariposas, a non-profit that provides an environment of learning, sharing and support to Latina Girls and their mothers. Our SVP of Customer Operations and chief driver of our LatinX presence and audience, Hernán Giraldo, was also kind enough to share some stories of his life growing up in Puerto Rico.

To continue our commitment to providing respite during the pandemic, we also hosted meditative art classes that involved knitting, drawing, and painting, to help our community find healthy outlets to cope with these “unprecedented times” (a phrase we can all agree we never want to hear ever again!)

  • VERIFIED Entering LATVIA – Accepting pets of Ukranian citizens who are not microchipped, not vaccinated against rabies, etc. It will be possible for the owner of the animal to carry out all formalities and procedures after entering Latvia.

  • VERIFIED Entering CZECH REPUBLIC – Those animals entering without a valid rabies vaccine/rabies titre test, will be placed under 10-day quarantine (meaning constant supervision by the owner). Within three days of entry, pet needs to be checked by a veterinarian (and microchipped if needed). Between 5–10 days of entry, rabies vaccine needs to be given if not up to date.
